well, here I am; all settled in and back to work. I look around at everything I have to do and I'm so overwhelmed...then I go down my "to do list" aka: something to make me feel like I'm acomplishing something when I don't want to do what really needs to get done. And as I go through my "to do list" I realize why I have so much to do. I look at them and think "aa, I don't really want to do that right now...it can wait." And so I'm back to blogging. Oh and I think someone asked where I was when I was eating sushi. I was in Spokane Washington at a Japanese and Chinese restaurant with my AmeriCorps group. I tried eel, tuna and salmon. I even tried just plain raw tuna without the rice and other stuff on it. It was not as good. It made me gag, but I swallowed it.

Well, for those of you who don't know; here are some of my plans for the future.
I will continue on working for the Fish and Game until December. I work approximately 38 hours a week as the volunteer coordinator, 6 hours a week as a fisheries technician and 10 hours a week as a "helper" at Mud Lake. I think the offical term is a technician but I basically drive a tractor up and down a field. At this pace, Sunday will be my only full day off but I will take 1/2 days on Tuesdays. Not Saturdays because that's when we need to do most of our volunteer projects. While I'm working I plan to take the GRE and get into a grad school somewhere as well as plan out how I will get through grad school for free. This plan will make it so on Dec. 15 2007 I will be debt free (unfortunately not including my student loans)and ready to start grad school in January. While I am in school my loans will be on forbearance, meaning I don't have to pay them, and I will not be taking out anymore. I'll go to school for another 2 years or so and if I am married to someone who has to stay in one spot I'll get a permanent job. If not, I'd like to get a federal job with the BLM or Fish and Wildlife. I will travel all around the country and get all my moves paid for by the government. Ha ha. Well in the mean time I am also working on a plan for biking from Canada to Mexico. I need a really good cause so if you have ideas, please donate them. If things work out the way I want, everyone who goes can get $1000 to put towards school and maybe even a free bike.

Just a couple of things for all those who didn't know about my travel plans...I didn't either! I was supposed to go to Moscow ID but because of the weather and over booked flights I ended up going everywhere. It was quite an adventure. Also, that was the plane we took. It was kind of fun because it was small, but mostly just cramped. Also I really like orientation. We stay in hotels, go out to eat and just hang out. 24hrs on the clock.

Beautiful seattle sunset

I thought this was a cool wall

I am in Portland Oregon. I'm headed to Seattle, then Spokane and eventually Moscow Idaho. I would like to add two new states to the "places I've been" list but since I don't get to leave the airport, I feel like it's a little deceiving. My journey began at 5:30 this morning when I left Idaho Falls to go to the AmeriCorps orientation. I originally was going to have like 4 hours to wait in the airport so I planned on figuring out my 1 hour presentation I have to give then. Unfortunately...I don't really have the time. Well, I guess I could do it right now. I don't really mind all the run around. After all, I'm on the clock but I was really hoping to get a free fligh out of it. Also, I've felt pretty sick all day. I only had 2 hours of sleep last night and if you know me well, that is NOT OK. That and they made me dump out my nalgene at the security check and I am thirsty. I know I should fill it up, but water never tastes the same from an airport drinking fountain. To top things off I'm having an "ugly" day. It always sucks when these happen when you're meeting new people.

Kona has conquered!

This is a present one of my volunteers made for me. I like having it in my office. Also i just wanted to say that this morning i decided it was warm enough for just a sweatshirt and even thought about trying to go slack lining. Then on the radio they said it was 10 degrees! I had no idea that I would ever consider 20 below freezing kind of warm! What's this world coming to? Global warming? I think not!!

"When I was 12, I went hunting wiht my father and we shot a bird. He was laying there and something struck me. Why do we call this fun to kill this creature who was as happy as I was when I woke up this morning." -Mary Lew

"One of my favorite clothing patterns is camouflage. Because when you're in the woods it makes you blend in. But when your're not it does just the opposite. It's like "hey, there's an a$$hole."" -Demetri Martin

I'm back at work again with 154 Emails waiting for me. Ah the joys of an "outdoor" job. Also we're getting so close to finishing the floors it's almost making me crazy! I can't wait. It already feels tons better in there.

Well, sometimes funny things are taken offensively...since this was the case, enjoy these more "serious" poses.

It's been a little while and I don't really have much to say. Christmas was great, new year's was chill and kori and I are "remodeling" the basement where we live. We painted and are in the process of replacing the carpet with wood lamanent. A much longer and harder process than I had anticipated. Well I guess not harder, but it is just soo time consuming. I have to go back to work soon, but I'm not sure when I will go. My boss and Fish and Game would like me back Monday, or probably last monday, but I don't get to start counting hours till the 16th. So with the "home improvement" project and the no pay...I think I'll wait.
