Red Rocks was soo FUN!

I feel like I haven't posted a blog where I actually type something for a while. Most of my posts have come from my phone. I've been working at Aspiro for a couple of weeks now and it's strange. I like the idea of Aspiro (taking wayward teens snowboarding, hiking, skiing, canyoneering, caving, climbing and camping to help them change their life), but for some reason I have been dreading going on trail...but once I'm out there I really like it. I think I figured it out yesterday. I DO like the job, I just don't like how much it interferes with the rest of my life. I feel like this job is trying to become my life-and when I'm out on trail, it does and I enjoy it. But then I come back to town and realize that I have a family, a calling, other hobbies, and goals. Then I get frustrated that I've been spending so much time "out there". So there it is: do I enjoy the job? Yes. But I will probably not do a trail job again. It just doesn't fit my personality I guess. Well, at least not when I'm living at home, trying to finish a bunch of projects, and trying to be active in church.

On another note, I've been home sick and just laying around trying to rest, drink tons of juice and water, and get well. I think Kona is getting the short end of the stick. All she does is lay around with me and act really bored (noisily shifting around, sighing loudly, yawning loudly and getting really excited when I get up). I wish she would be like a regular dog and just play in the yard sometimes!

And last but not least...Does anyone know anyone who lives on Padre Island or in Corpus Christi, TX that would let me and Kona live with them for the summer? I'm willing to pay rent but it's hard to find anything other than a vacation rental (which is REALLY EXPENSIVE) that will let you do less than a 6 mo. lease.
